Dit keer verloopt het echter heel anders. In het begin is het nog onduidelijk welke kant deze Europese film opgaat. Maar als Russische bemanning eenmaal aan boord zit en de temperatuur van de oefen-torpedo langsaam oploopt, wordt duidelijk dat dit geen stoere mannen film is. Ondertussen volgen we ook wat er gebeurd met de gezinnen aan land. De cast is een feest van herkenning, van Colin Firth tot Max von Sydow. Hoofdrolspelers\u00a0L\u00e9a Seydoux en Matthias Schoenaerts zijn goed op hun plek. Het had een hele langzame, dramatische film kunnen worden maar gelukkig zijn de sc\u00e8nes niet te kort of te lang en stapelt de ellende zich niet oneindig op.
