Van de acteurs straalde het plezier en enthousiasme. Paul de Leeuw speelde heel prettig, het leek wel of ie gewoon zichzelf was. Het verhaal is tragisch maar door het natuurlijke verloop wordt je helemaal meegesleept. Omdat de dramatische scenes niet &#8220;overdone&#8221; zijn en van normale lengte (in tegenstelling tot in de hiervoor genoemde films) was er een goede balans. Ook het typisch Nederlands functioneel bloot ontbrak gelukkig.
